Wagner Tuning Competition Intercoolers
We’re pleased to announce that we’ve been made an official dealer for Wagner Tuning, the German manufacturer of intercooler and exhaust systems.
As you may know, we’re particularly interested in aerodynamic efficiency and have our own ideas on intercooler designs, so we were impressed to see some of our requirements incorporated into Wagner Tuning intercoolers, as well as being made to a very high standard.
We often find that aftermarket intercooler end-tanks are made with cheapness and/or packaging as priorities which is why they tend to be fabricated from sheet metal. This process is a disaster from an airflow efficiency perspective because it responds best to smooth changes in direction and sizes – not the sharp edges and corners found on fabricated versions. All Wagner Tuning end-tanks are made from investment castings (not fabricated), and importantly are designed by CFD analysis to ensure that airflow through the intercooler is optimal. Any sub-optimal airflow creates a pressure drop which results in a loss of performance. Some of the Wagner Tuning intercooler end tanks are so complex that they even feature internal turn-vanes in order to maximise airflow volume and distribute it evenly through the core, which is very cool (no pun intended!).
The intercooler cores are also critical to performance. The should have adequate surface area to dissipate the heat, good internal aerodynamics to minimise pressure drop across the core, and maximum heat-exchanging contact at the boundary-layers. Wagner Tuning intercooler tick these boxes.
There’s an impressive range to choose from for Audi, BMW, Fiat, Ford, Honda, Hyundai, Kia, Mercedes, Mini, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Porsche, Renault, Seat, Skoda, Subaru, Toyota, Vauxhall, as well universal components.
